The construction of Casino Estoril dates back to the first decade from the last century, when Fausto Figueiredo – at the time board member of the Portuguese Railway Company – pictured the idea of making Estoril a tourism resort on international level. The dream eventually came true, during the hard times of the I World War.

The Hotel Palácio Estoril is one of Europe's great hotels which has been enchanting successive generations of guests from the four corners of the globe since 1930.
